今回で6回目となるアジア映画を紹介するイベント“Asian Pop-Up Cinema Film Festival”が3月13日（火）～5月16日（水）の期間シカゴ市内で開催している。Asian Pop-Up Cinema代表者ソフィアさんが数多くの映画祭に足を運び、100本を超えるアジア映画作品の中から厳選している。今シーズンは16作品を上映、日本映画は4作品（彼らが本気で編むときは、風の色、パーフェクト・レボリューション、幼な子われらに生まれ）が選ばれた。同映画祭の見どころは、スペシャルゲストとして監督、俳優が来場し、上映後のQ&Aがあり、観客も質問に参加できること。全作品ではないが、アジアで活躍している監督、俳優を近くで見られるのは、日本では体験できないことだろう。
アングル編集部は、「風の色」と「パーフェクト・レボリューション」の上演後、モデレーターとのディスカッションリポート、そして俳優・古川雄輝氏、監督・松本准平氏とAsian Pop-Up Cinema代表 Sophia Wong Boccio に話を伺った。

he Asian Pop-up cinema is now open through May 16th. Sophia Wong Boccio is the founder and visits film festivals all around the country and has shown over 100 movies. In the sixth season of the pop-up cinemas 16 Asian films were showcased.
Out of the 16 Sophia chose 4 Japanese movies including, “Close-knit”, “Colors of Wind”, “Perfect Revolution” and “Dear Etranger.” Q&A was a highlight from the festival, giving audiences the ability to meet and greet the director and actors.
For example, actor Yuki Furukawa who starred in “Colors of Wind,” sat down for a spirited Q&A session and shared how this film was his most challenging project to date. He expressed an interest in filming in Chicago.
I had an opportunity to sit down for a one on one with the director of “Perfect Revolution,” Jumpei Matsumoto who had some good advice for todays youth starting out trying to be successful and that advice was go down your own path and be true to yourself.
